![]() ![]() The E-Revo VXL is built on the race-winning, track-proven innovation of the Revo and E-Revo models. No detail was overlooked in our mission to bring all the capability, durability, and excitement of Traxxas' award-winning models to 1/16 scale for fast, affordable R/C fun. Beneath the factory-finished polycarbonate shell, you'll find the winning suspension technology of the seven-time National Champion Traxxas Revo®, screaming Velineon® brushless-motor power, and the convention-busting innovation of the E-Revo. But don't call it a "mini"-this is a whole new category of R/C performance and fun that no mere mini-model can match. At 14 inches long, E-Revo VXL is about half the size of the 1/10-scale E-Revo. Now, for the first time, all the speed, quality and capability you expect from Traxxas is available in 1/16 scale with the new 1/16 E-Revo VXL. Traxxas sets the standard for power, performance and innovation. Add some century compression springs to the shocks, sold at Ace Hardware. The only upgrades I recommend is center diff to control the wheelies and increase the turning traction. Traxxas customer service and warranty are the best the business, even on their batteries. Just get the best traxxas charger and batteries you can afford. the oem shocks are really weak and I wasn't that satisfied the "big bore" shocks either. I wore out a few hubs and pinions and diff housings. never broke any parts other than bumpers, not even a chassis. I had all the off road models, I preferred the summit model for backyard bashing. This thing can be a money pit because of the layers of upgrades you can get into, I'd say the farthest I'd go is aluminum bulkheads matched with an aluminum center skid plate to stiffen the chassis, and then you're playing the careful game of good electronics that fit properly. Having gone this far I like my mini revo, if you're worried about shitty electronics issues keep in mind this thing came with a 27mhz long antenna radio when I got mine lol, but for your consideration I bought this well before the losi 1/14 truggy was around. Some small things that improved quality: I put steel hollow balls in the plastic push rods, shimmed the differentials, and turnbuckles instead of upgrading them and I put threaded set screws into the axle carriers to remove slop from the pivot ball joints. The summit 1:16 has weaker driveshafts if you were wondering, I've had few drive shaft issues with the stock ones. I'd say the essentials are RPM a-arms, a turnigy servo, and off-set tires. If you go through the investment of upgrading the necessary parts I think it's worth driving, mainly due to its size. ![]() Mini revo owner here, I've nearly rebuilt this entire car in parts but I've thrashed it hard.
